Welcome to Module 6
Welcome to Module 6: Tools and Resources
You have successfully completed Module 5, where you learnt how to co-create personalised coaching plans and build relationally grounded support structures. Module 6 now moves into the practical tools and resources that enable a neurodivergent client to function confidently and independently in day-to-day life.
This module is intentionally grounded in the Dynamic Development Plan (DDP) principle of reducing unnecessary cognitive load. Rather than overwhelming clients with complex systems, we focus on simple, purposeful, and accessible tools that can be introduced, practised, and gradually embedded into everyday routines.
Lesson 6.1 explores Technology and Aids, guiding you through selecting tools that act as scaffolds rather than sources of overwhelm. You will learn how simple applications, visual timers, built-in accessibility features, and everyday organisational supports can significantly improve independence, motivation, and emotional regulation.
Lesson 6.2 then expands the focus from tools to Resource Networks, helping you support a client to create an ecosystem of people, relationships, and community links that underpin long-term wellbeing. Tools alone cannot sustain change — the environment matters.
Together, these lessons will equip you to design practical, affirming, and sustainable support structures that honour a client’s strengths and reduce barriers to progress.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of Module 6, you will be able to:
- Identify and evaluate simple, accessible tools that reduce cognitive load for neurodivergent clients.
- Teach clients to integrate purposeful technology into their routines in a way that supports autonomy.
- Map and analyse resource networks that support long-term growth, safety, and identity affirmation.
- Design practical scaffolds that align with the Dynamic Development Plan (DDP) framework.
