DECKACY Neuro Coach Program Bursary Policy
Effective Date: October 14, 2025
This policy outlines the terms and conditions under which the DECKACY charity offers full bursaries for the Neuro Coach Program, supporting the development of qualified neuro-support professionals.
1. Bursary Overview
1.1 Purpose: The bursary is established by the DECKACY charity to address the critical need for qualified neuro coaches and specialized support staff in educational and therapeutic settings.
1.2 Value: Each bursary covers the full cost of the Neuro Coach Program, valued at approximately per successful student.
1.3 Availability: A highly limited number of 20 full bursaries are available for this application window. The selection process will be highly competitive.
1.4 Sponsorship: All bursaries are funded entirely by the DECKACY charity.
2. Eligibility and Target Applicants
2.1 General Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and demonstrate a clear intention to use the Neuro Coach training to support others in educational, therapeutic, or community environments.
2.2 Target Audience (Preferred Applicants): Preference will be given to individuals currently or aspiring to work in roles that directly support neurodiverse individuals, including:
- Teachers and Lecturers (Early Years to University)
- Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCos) and Inclusion Managers
- Learning Support Workers, TAs, and HLTAs
- Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and other Therapeutic Professionals.
- Social Workers, Police Officers, Nurses, Solicitors, and other public sector professionals.
2.3 Financial Need: The bursary is merit-based with a strong consideration of financial need. Applicants must explain why the full financial support of is required.
3. Application Requirements
All applicants must submit a complete application using the official form, which includes:
- Full Name and Current Email Address.
- The exact Course Title for which the bursary is requested.
- A compelling explanation of financial need and how the training will be applied in their professional role (minimum 50 words).
- Confirmation, via checkbox, that they have read and agree to this Bursary Policy.
4. Selection Process and Notification
4.1 Criteria: Applications will be reviewed by the DECKACY Bursary Committee based on:
a) Demonstrated financial need.
b) Quality and clarity of the explanation of need and commitment.
c) Potential positive impact the training will have on the applicant’s community or setting.
4.2 Review: All submissions are final upon receipt. The Committee’s decision is final and non-negotiable.
4.3 Notification: Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified via the submitted email address within four (4) weeks of the application deadline.
5. Terms and Conditions
5.1 Non-Transferable: The bursary is awarded exclusively to the named recipient and cannot be transferred to another person, course, or application period.
5.2 Course Completion: Recipients are required to actively engage with and complete the Neuro Coach Program within twelve (12) months of their acceptance date. Failure to begin or complete the program without prior written approval may result in the requirement to repay the bursary funds.
5.3 Policy Changes: The DECKACY Bursary Committee reserves the right to amend this policy, including the value, number, and eligibility criteria, at any time without prior notice.
