Student Expectations and Programme Accountability Terms

The Self, Managed, Hybrid Learning Model

The Self, Managed Responsibility

As a self, managed, hybrid learning programme, the onus is entirely upon the student to organise their time, engage with the modules, and manage their own academic progress. This expectation of self, managed, study is a standard protocol across all accredited higher education and professional training institutions. While we provide the structural framework, the intellectual drive and the commitment to completion must originate from the learner.

Programme Engagement and Support

It is the responsibility of the student to seek support if they are experiencing difficulties with the programme, content, or personal circumstances. This proactive approach ensures that the tutor can provide the necessary scaffolds in good time. Attendance at all scheduled hybrid learning sessions is a mandatory requirement for programme accreditation. Should an unavoidable absence occur, students are required to make contact with their assigned tutor at the earliest opportunity, providing clear reasoning and a plan for catching up on the missed learning.

Programme Expectations and Outcomes

Failure to follow the expectations of the terms, and conditions of this programme, or persistent non, adherence to attendance and engagement protocols, may result in one of the following formal outcomes: deferral where possible, removal from the programme, or the repayment of the full, or part, cost of the course. Financial liability is applicable if the reason for no, longer being able to continue does not meet the established criteria for non, payment.

Criteria for Waiver and Deferral

Eligibility for a waiver of repayment or approval for a programme deferral is determined by the programme lead based upon the following professional criteria:

  • Verified medical or compassionate grounds: Evidence of significant health challenges or life, events that prevent programme completion.
  • Proactive communication: Evidence that the student has communicated their difficulties in good time, allowing for a collaborative solution rather than abrupt non, attendance.
  • Revision of pathway: Agreement to a revised learning pathway where the student demonstrates a continued commitment to the course despite current obstacles.

Formal Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this portal and reading these terms, you are formally agreeing to them. This document serves as a binding addendum to the original Bursary Terms, and Conditions issued upon your entry to the programme.
